It is 100% coco-yam tuber and it’s processed into more stable forms for better storage. Coco-yam is vital for maintaining a healthy immune system. Chikel Coco-yam flour as soup thickener/ poundo
Chikel coco-yam soup thickener is available in 200g pack and 50g pack. The 50g pack would make a soup pot for an average family (six adults) for a week or more, while the 200g pack is ideal for events, restaurants and large households. Chikel coco-yam poundo comes in 1kg and 2kg, packed into low density polyethylene film.
How to use Chikel Coco-yam thickener
How to use Chikel coco-yam flour as soup thickener; you can add directly or make a paste in very little water then add to your boiling soup. Start with little amount of coco-yam flour and then increase to achieve your desired thickness. Allow the soup to boil for at least 7 minutes and add more till you get your desired thickness.
How to use Chikel coco-yam flour as poundo; boil a measurable amount of water and add your desired quantity of coco-yam flour, stir with a wooden spoon till it is a whole solid lump. Add as much water as you would like if it appears thick to get the consistency you want. Remember to add the water in bits. Cooking time is approximately 15 minutes.
